What Is The Magic Box?

Watch The Video

This video explains what it is and how it works.

It can be best described as working like a ‘fridge in reverse’, as most people understand that the panel on the back of their fridge is a factor in keeping its contents cold.

By reversing this principle, a thermodynamic aluminium collector panel is mounted on the outside (or inside) to absorb heat rather than reject it and allows us to utilise the ambient air temperature day and night in all weather conditions. This process transforms the refrigerant liquid circulating through the thermodynamic aluminium collector panel from a liquid to a gas form.

It’s the changing of the state of the refrigerant that allows us to capture energy from the ambient air and pass it in a way into the stored water to heat it.

The Solar Assisted Heat Pump compresses the gas which increases the temperatures, where the spent gas reverts back to a liquid which flows back in the panel, allowing the process to repeat. At the same time, a water pump pulls cold water from the cylinder into the Solar Assisted Heat Pump. This process continues until the water in the cylinder reaches 55 degrees Celsius, once this is achieved the system goes into standby mode.

Magic Box InternationalThe System
The Little Magic Thermodynamic Box III (LMTB III) is the innovative Solar Assisted Heat Pump, designed to retrofit all hot water storage cylinders. The LMTB III supplies hot drinkable water day and night to your home, 365 days a year in all weather conditions. Each system comprises of a Little Magic Thermodynamic Box and an External evaporator which can be added to an existing cylinder, vented or unvented. The LMTB III captures energy from the air surrounding the thermodynamic panel, transferring the energy to water within the existing cylinder to efficiently and cost-effectively heat domestic hot water.

How Does It Work?

Where Can It Be Positioned?
The Thermodynamic Panel is made of aluminium and is fitted to an external wall, any aspect is suitable, portrait or landscape, and it can either be installed on the wall or roof.

The Little Magic Box is ‘microwaved sized’ and is positioned as close as possible to the existing water cylinder. It is connected by teeing into the hot and cold water flows. The Magic Box is pre-gassed with R134a ozone friendly refrigerant to facilities an 8 metre run between the Panel and Box, this can be extended to 15 metres.

It can be fitted to both vented and unvented hot water cylinders. A Globus installer pack contains all necessary accessories including vibration, mounting pads, full-bore flexible hoses, Y-Line filter and lever valves to ensure effective, efficient and quiet performance.

The Dip Pipe Assembly Allows us to:

  • Draw hot water to the taps
  • Facilitate cold water collection from the bottom of the cylinder
  • Reintroduce hot water via the cold water feed and minimise cylinder dilation
  • Reduce possible air circulation within pipework

Magic Box InternationalLMTB IV supplies hot potable water day and night, 365 days a year no matter what the weather. MCS accredited and ERP A rated the Little Magic Thermodynamic Box IV is also supplied with an external evaporator.

The Little Magic Thermodynamic Box IV is the latest, most innovative Solar Assisted Heat Pump to date and is also designed to retrofit all hot water storage cylinders. Utilising advanced state-of-the art components coupled with the new Blueberry intelligent controller this is the most technologically advanced retrofit Solar Assisted Heat Pump to date, this heat pump provides the ultimate solution for your hot water requirements.

Magic Box InternationalThe Big Magic Thermodynamic Box combines innovative Solar Assisted Heat Pump technology with 130L and 200L indirect, unvented, stainless steel A rated KIWA approved cylinder.

The BMTB transfers energy in the same way as other Magic Box International products, by transferring energy into water within its casting to meet your hot water requirements, in a cost effective way and efficient way, that enables us to offer a complete range of Solar Assisted Heat Pumps, suitable for every installation.

During our most recent Multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) testing of the new LMTB IV, it achieved an ERP A rating with a testing cycle that considers a level of water consumption above and beyond the average household usage. The test revealed that Magic Box International products could save us 80% on heating up your home.

Magic Box International is passionate about the science of thermodynamics in relation to engineering. By studying the concept, Magic Box International innovate and design functional renewable energy and products that save energy.

Each member of the team is an expert in their field, striving to adapt and improve products to ensure that all products are better than the competition and are built to last, including the Magic Thermodynamic Box, redesigned on the inside and the outside.

From the first MCS approved Solar Assisted Heat Pump the LMTV IV, our family of Thermodynamic products including 130L and 200L cylinder (BMTB) now offer an option for every installation.

Following through Research and Development, the LMBT IV and the BMTB have been developed to be faster and more efficient than ever. Continuing to generate your hot water, day and night in all weather conditions.

All LMTV III and IV can be added to an existing cylinder and are compatible with both vented and sealed systems. All Magic Box Internationals products have been made from tested, proven the technology and require no additional maintenance. They also come with a 5-year guarantee, for your peace of mind.
